Lykens - Twenty Years Ago - An Historical Sketch (Chas. H. Miller, 1876, 27 pages) The beginning of the account describes its contents: "In the sketch that is intended to be presented to you of the primitive days of a town since grown into importance and position; a town largely increasing in trade and population; a town now the outlet of almost half a million tones of coal annually; whose location is among the richest anthracite coal beds in the State; whose furnace is the most promising, and whose present is full of prosperity, although the colors may be criticized by some as being too flashy and the characters as overdrawn, the essential features of the whole are as accurate as memory yet can produce them or as personal witness of all he intends to portray, and, in the most, and actual participant." Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania (1894, T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer) (*** Not text searchable ***) Yearbook and History Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lykens, PA (C. S. Jones, 1916, 22 pages) This small pamphlet was produced as a historical sketch of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Lykens PA. It covers the spread of Lutheranism in the Upper Dauphin County area, and the formation and growth of this Church in Lykens. Lykens-Williams Valley – History, Directory and Pictorial Review (J. Allen Barrett, 1922, 304 pages) This is a history of Williams Valley of Upper Dauphin County Pennsylvania. It includes historical accounts of its principal towns of Berrysburg, Elizabethville, Gratz, Lykens, Millersburg, Tower City, Wiconisco, and Williamstown, and also the townships of Lykens, Miffin, and Porter. Following the historical accounts of the towns and townships, another section is devoted to biographies of the prominent and influential men of these areas, most accompanied by a portrait. There are also several useful sets of data including a list of mine casualties from the area from 1878-1921, and "Honor Rolls" of those who served in WWI from each of the towns. There are also a number of ads for local businesses and a directory of these in the back of the publication. Directory of Williamstown Dauphin County, Pennsylvania (Anonymous, 1940, 52 pages) This booklet is a resident and civil directory of the town of Williamstown, Dauphin County, PA for the year 1940. It lists the primary resident and mate's name, and street address, also notes businesses at each address. General Marshall’s Victory Report [Millersburg – Berrysburg - Pillow] (U.S. War Department, 1946-47, 160 pages) This was published following the close of the war to provide the public with a general account of the war from beginning to end. The report was published for individual areas throughout the state, and each of these areas included a list of local men and women who served in the war. This report covers the towns of Millersburg, Halifax, Dalmatia, Berrysburg with Mifflin Township and Pillow. Souvenir Program – Williamstown Old Home Week Celebration (Anonymous, 1949, 40 pages) This is a program of the Old Home Week Celebration of Williamstown, PA in 1949. It also includes numerous ads for local businesses. Sesquicentennial Halifax Methodist Church 1801-1951 (Anonymous, 1951, 21 pages) The Gratz Sesqui-Centennial 1805-1955 (Anonymous, 1955, 60 pages) This is a program of events associated with the 150th Anniversary celebration of Gratz, Dauphin County, PA, held in 1955. Along with the program are numerous ads for local businesses.
